LICENCE FOR PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE DRIVERS
Under this proposal existing drivers will be permitted to licence their current vehicle(s) until they are 10 years old however should they decide to replace that vehicle before it is 10 years old then it must be electric (zero emissions/no exhaust). No longer renew petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicle licenses (hackney carriage & private hire) for new vehicles (submitted by existing licence holders) and vehicles older than 10 years from 1 January 2025. Under this proposal any new vehicle proprietor wanting to licence their vehicle for the first time in Milton Keynes must provide an electric vehicle that has zero emissions (no exhaust) by 1 January 2025.ģ. No longer grant new vehicle licenses (hackney carriage & private hire) for petrol/diesel/hybrid vehicles from 1 January 2025. This proposal would encourage private hire drivers to give up their existing petrol/diesel/hybrid vehicles and purchase electric hackney carriage vehicles (zero emissions/no exhaust).Ģ. In addition, some private hire drivers would like to drive hackney carriage vehicles however the current restriction (137) on hackney carriage licenses prevents them from doing so. This proposal would encourage new vehicle proprietors to purchase an electric vehicle (zero emissions/no exhaust) should they want to provide hackney carriage services in Milton Keynes. Remove the hackney carriage limit and only allow new hackney carriage licenses for vehicles that are electrically powered (zero emissions/no exhaust).Ĭurrently there are no electric hackney carriages (zero emissions/no exhaust) licensed by Milton Keynes Council. Specifically we would like to know the views of the public and existing licence holders on the following proposals:ġ. In Milton Keynes 25 vehicles (zero emissions/no exhaust) are currently licensed (25 PHVs 0 HCVs). Council officers are currently preparing a specific taxi licensing strategy, to be incorporated into the taxi policy, to promote the licensing of more electric vehicles (zero emissions/no exhaust) in Milton Keynes.

LICENCE FOR PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE DRIVER
Trainees will only be issued the Private Hire Car Driver Vocational License (PDVL) by the LTA upon completion of the training programme and passing of all the prescribed tests. Trainees must attend all the lessons and complete all the classroom exercises before they can proceed to take the corresponding tests. For more details, you can view the course outline here. LICENCE FOR PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE PROFESSIONAL
Trainees will undergo a combination of classroom coaching and self-study to acquire all the competencies required of a professional chauffeur. The training course lasts a total of 10 hours: 8 classroom hours, with at least 2 self-study hours.

Paper 1: Service Quality, Health & Safety Paper
There will be 2 test papers that the trainee needs to schedule after attending the training course. Private Hire Car Driving Practice PDVL Paper 2 The Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) has made it mandatory for all private hire car drivers to be properly licensed with a Private Hire Car Driver Vocational Licence (PDVL).
